We are officially on our own in Thailand! The 5 of us girls took a van at 11:30am from Sandy Beach hotel to our accommodations on Chewang Beach. It is exciting to have some time to ourselves and make our own agenda for the next few days on Samui. We got to our hostel, Samui Beach Apartments around 12:15pm. It’s no joke that they are like apartments either! We have a living room, a kitchen, and 2 bedrooms. All of us were excited to have a small kitchen area with a microwave and refrigerator; in the name of penny-pinching we can make our own food with the supplies here. Also a plus, the ocean is a 2-minute walk behind our room.
After taking some time to enjoy the sun and the beach (yet again!) we made a grocery run to the ever-present 7-11. I swear, 7-11’s are like the American Starbucks. There is one on every corner. The rest of the evening was spent in total relaxation. Everyone except for Suzie (she had an awful stomach ache) walked down the main road looking at the small shops and picking up last minute souvenirs. I know this may sound disappointing, but we ate dinner from our bread and peanut butter and watched TV. Not too exciting huh? Honestly though, I think all of us really needed some down time in the A/C. We all went to bed pretty early, before midnight.
The following day is something to look forward to: Ziplining through the jungle!
